Aluminium is a relatively lightweight metal that lends itself well to use in furniture with its excellent corrosion resistance and the ease with which it can be cast and machined.

We use aluminium that is anodised or polished.

Our anodised aluminium has an attractive black or taupe finish achieved through an electrochemical process. Anodising is a highly controlled oxidation, resulting in a finish that is durable and corrosion-resistant. The aluminium is sand-blasted before being anodised, to create a subtle texture.

Our polished aluminium is hand polished for several hours to achieve the rich surface and, as is the nature of a hand-finished product, each piece will feature slight variations. Polished aluminium is non-corrosive. There is no coating on our hand polished aluminium, and it will begin to patina immediately upon use.

Brass is an alloy of copper and zinc, with an attractive gold-like colour. It has been used for centuries for decorative items and musical instruments. We coat our brass with Renaissance Wax which provides a barrier to slow ageing and oxidisation, while maintaining a natural appearance.

Our polished brass is hand polished before the application of wax.

Our brushed brass is brushed to create an appealing surface texture before the application of wax.

Bronze is an alloy of copper, often containing a small percentage of tin and the addition of other metals such as aluminium, manganese, nickel or zinc. It has been used throughout time in industrial applications and is a favourite for sculpture.

We coat our polished bronze with Renaissance Wax which provides a barrier to slow ageing and oxidisation, while maintaining a natural appearance.

Cast Iron is hardwearing with great compressive strength and is easy to maintain. Our cast iron is parkerized, which protects the iron from corrosion and wear, retains oil molecules, and provides a dark grey to black matte surface. A light coating of wax further protects the surface, while providing an attractive sheen.

Copper is a beautiful metal that has long been used in art and architecture. It is has a reddish-orange colour which over time develops a green patina.

Steel, an alloy of iron and carbon, is an exceptionally strong and stable metal suitable for numerous applications.

Our painted steel, available in the colour black, is achieved by applying a dry coating of black-coloured powder to the steel using static electricity. The result is a very hard, durable, textured surface with an appealing, even colour.
