FURNITURE TAILORING
We offer a ‘tailoring’ service to accommodate requests for alterations to existing products. Below are guidelines for our furniture tailoring service.
1. DEFINITION OF TAILORING
Tailoring respects the overall proportions and function of the original design, and involves modifications to fabric and timber components. In some cases, we may be able to make alterations to metal or stone components.
Any significant changes to the shape and/or purpose of the product will not be considered tailoring, and cannot be accommodated.
2. COSTS
Tailoring will accrue additional costs.
3. DRAWINGS
The first drawing of the tailored item is included in the tailoring charge. Any changes to the initial drawing will incur an additional fee. Once approved, drawings must be signed and submitted to De La Espada for production to begin.
4. LEAD TIME
The manufacturing lead time will be extended by two weeks, provided we receive approved drawings within two days of supplying them. The order will be halted after two days if we don’t receive approval, and a new lead time will be quoted upon receipt of the signed drawing. Swift approval is important to avoid missing the production slot.
5. CANCELLATION
Cancellation of the order at the drawing stage will be accepted in exchange for the minimum tailoring charge. Cancellation of order after the drawings have been signed off will not be accepted for any reason.
